  • Knowing Christ
    2026/03/11

    Philippians 3:2–11

What does it truly mean to know Christ—not merely to believe in Him, but to be found in Him?

In Philippians 3, the apostle Paul issues a sober warning against misplaced confidence. He exposes the subtle danger of trusting spiritual credentials, discipline, or religious effort rather than resting fully in the grace of God. Drawing from his own story, Paul renounces every ground of self-reliance and points us toward a deeper center: being found in Christ, clothed not in our own righteousness, but in the righteousness that comes from God by faith.

This message traces three movements in Paul’s journey:

    • A warning against false confidence rooted in the flesh

    • A radical renunciation of self-made righteousness

    • A new center of life—union with Christ in His death and resurrection

Along the way, we are invited to examine where our hearts lean when life presses in. Are we anchored in our background, our obedience, or our reputation—or are we resting our full weight on Christ alone?

This is a reflection on surrender, belonging, and the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus our Lord.

What does it mean to live in a way that is worthy of the gospel within the life of the church?

In Philippians 2:1–11, the apostle Paul calls believers away from self-interest, rivalry, and fear, and toward a life shaped by humility, unity, and sacrificial love. At the center of this call stands Christ Himself—who did not grasp for glory, but humbled Himself in obedience, trusting the Father with exaltation.

  • Bound By The Blood: The Joy of Gospel Partnership
    2025/10/12

A teaching in Philippians 1:1–30, the apostle Paul reflects on the deep joy that flows from gospel partnership—a joy forged not by ease or comfort, but by shared faith, suffering, and hope in Christ.

In Bound by the Blood: The Joy of Gospel Partnership, John K Bryant explores how believers are united not by personality, preference, or circumstance, but by the saving work of Jesus Christ. From prison, Paul reminds the church that the gospel advances through faithful partnership, courageous witness, and a life shaped by Christ’s worth above all else.

This message calls us to consider what truly binds the people of God together and how gospel joy endures even in hardship.
