The question that changes how you show up

Today we continue the clarity series with a question that can change the way you create, speak, and show up in your business: who are you actually called to serve in this season? Proverbs 18:16 says a gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great. Don't rush that. Sometimes the thing you keep minimizing is the very thing God has placed in your hands to steward. You can have something valuable to offer, but if you're trying to shape it for everyone, it starts to lose its weight — and your message loses focus.

Find your niche without the marketing pressure

When your message is shaped for everyone, the examples don't feel specific enough, the offer gets harder to explain, and the woman who actually needs your help may not realize you're talking to her. So let's take the pressure out of the marketing terms and bring it back to how you actually serve her. This isn't about squeezing people into a niche — it's about learning to serve with more clarity and care. Because when you know who you're speaking to, your words have somewhere to land. I know the moment we talk about who you serve, it can sound like marketing language — ideal client, target audience, niche. But hear this differently: you're not locking yourself into an audience forever. You're paying attention to the woman God keeps bringing to mind, the one whose struggle you understand and can serve with what He's already placed in your hands.

Getting clear enough to serve well today

Choosing who you serve right now doesn't mean your business can never grow, or that God won't expand the work later. It simply means you're willing to get clear enough to serve well today. I had to learn this too. After my season on print on demand, I shifted into digital products because I wanted to help people — but even there I was too broad. I was trying to help everyone, not a clear person. And when you're trying to help everyone, it becomes harder to know what to build, what to say, and who you're actually serving.

Why knowing who you serve sharpens your message

Clarity isn't just about having something valuable to offer — it's about knowing who you're called to serve with it. For this podcast, I know who I'm speaking to: the Christian woman solopreneur who is starting, rebuilding, or simplifying a small business with God. She wants faith at the center of what she's building, simple structure, clear direction, and a next step she can take without slipping into pressure or striving. Knowing that shapes the way I speak, the examples I use, and what I choose to leave out. The same is true for you. When you know who you're serving, you stop trying to sound relevant to every person in the room. You can speak with more clarity, more care, and more honesty — and that's when the right woman hears you and thinks, "she's talking to me." That's not manipulation. It's service.

Your next faithful step

So instead of asking, "how do I reach everybody," come back to this: who can I help well right now with what God has placed in my hands? Not the audience that sounds most impressive or the direction everyone online says you need to take — the person you can serve with clarity, care, and honesty in this season. Stay with it. Notice who keeps crossing your path, what conversations keep standing out, and where your experience may serve someone with care.
