  • Michael and April Holton
    2025/11/20
On the morning of September 11, 2016, Michael and April Holton were found shot inside their home in Eclectic, Alabama—just eleven minutes after a sheriff’s deputy had visited the house. Michael, a beloved former mayor and firefighter, was dead at the scene. April died the next morning. Their eldest son, 17-year-old Madison, was the only other person inside the home. Was this a murder-suicide fueled by a painful separation… or something far more complicated? In this episode, we break down the tense timeline, the forensic inconsistencies, the shifting theories, and why the charges against Madison were ultimately dropped. Nearly a decade later, no one has been convicted. And the truth of what happened in those eleven minutes remains one of Alabama’s most haunting mysteries. If you have information about the deaths of Michael and April Holton, contact the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office or CrimeStoppers of Central Alabama. Learn more about your ad choices.
