  • Episode 8 :: Knockout Artists and the Fantasy Fight Fad
    2021/05/27

So of course we got to get into Fight Night. What we saw from the knockout artist, Cody Garbrandt is worth a closer look. Mike gets us into Cody’s style and where his head is at when he’s taking on an opponent. We also have the surprising (for some) retirement of Paul Felder, and why the Irish Dragon has nothing left to prove. Or does he?

And then there’s the fad of fantasy fights between boxing and MMA worlds. So would we actually EVER see GSP take on Oscar De La Hoya? And do we really want to? Well we know it would take a lot of work to make it happen, and as Mike points out, a lot of effort for Oscar to get on GSP’s level. But we’ll see...

  • Episode 7 :: Twitter Hacks and Clap Backs
    2021/05/20

Coming off of UFC 262 we have to get into judging, how fights are officiated and holding them accountable. As Mike tells us, that’s what fighters value most. While we’re at it, Mike gets super technical on the art of the heel hook and how to effectively execute it.

And then there’s Katlyn Chookagian...yes, she had a solid win against Viviane Araujo, but we noticed her Twitter activity is more of a story.

The real big news is what’s going on in the ring --  or not -- with Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder...and Anthony Joshua. There’s a lot going on there and Mike explains what Fury can do, and what would match up we should expect to see come together in the next couple months.

  • Episode 6 :: The Best Pound-For-Pound Ever?
    2021/05/13

Following a jam packed Fight Night, we catch up on the state of the UFC. Not only what went down between Magney and Khamzat, but also Gregor Gillepse and why his heart is going to take him wherever he wants to go in the sport.

As for the fight game itself, all eyes were on Canelo Alvarez, and the dude did not disappoint. In the wake of the fight and the stoppage, the damage to Saunders eye was no joke. So we got to wondering...how great is Canelo against the pound-for-pound best ever?

And speaking of the best ever, we have to make sense of what’s going on with Floyd and Jake Paul aka Gotcha Hat. Me and Mike know that would have never happened to us. So what exactly is Floyd...a GOAT...doing? And is this all by design?

  • Episode 5 :: Greatness, Dominance and Kamaru Usman
    2021/04/29

UFC 261 did not disappoint. We all watched it, we saw how wild it was, how entertaining it was and he really just flat-out epic it was.

Kamaru Usman is an all-around beast and after he dismantled Masvidal, he moved himself up in the conversations of the true greats in the sport. As for Masvidal, Mike and Mike consider what’s next for him. Speaking of what’s next, we also got to get into what’s on the horizon for Khamzat and Nick Diaz and the bulletin board material has already started popping off.

But the beef of the week has to go to Jake Paul and DC, of course. So we had to talk about Jake...like it or not...he’s got our attention. He’s got a plan and it’s actually working. Now where does he go from here??? Let’s get into it!

  • Episode 4 :: Making Sense of Jake Paul
    2021/04/22

We have to make sense of this Jake Paul and Ben Asken...spectacle. Of course we had to watch it, but when it comes to fights, by definition you could call it that, was a circus. From the action in the ring to the side show out of it, what did we witness??? Well me let's figure that out.

When it comes to the fight game, it is an art form. Of course Mike was an all-time great, so from a technical perspective we can analyze how things went south for Ben, and how the ref actually saved him from further damage. This one had so much more than that...

    2021/03/31

In this, the first installment of Mike'd Up, Mike and Mike speak to the similarities in MMA and professional basketball, breaking down myths that surround both sports. They dig in on what we should respect about fighters/hoopers’ discipline, dedication and frame of mind.

From there, MCW picks Mike B’s brain. To truly know about how a fighter is wired, Bisping takes us inside both the intensity and the lightness that it takes to walk that line. As we find out, there's so much to draw from and apply to not only the fight game, but whatever your game is.
