Beloved, fear is what keeps us from living into what God needs us to do. In this sermon, we look at Elijah, the Romans, Peter, and the disciples, and the ways fear can distract us from where God is calling us.
Peter stepped out of the boat in faith, walking toward Jesus on the waves, but when the wind came, fear overtook him. Yet Jesus was there to take him by the hand. Sometimes our faith gets us out of the boat, but fear keeps us from focusing on Christ.
We have a Christ to proclaim. The world is hungry for this Good News, and Resurrection life brings meaning, hope, and purpose to our lives. The question is whether we can overcome our fear to be faithful and become children of the light, sharing the hope we have found in Christ with those who need it.
