    Prayer

    Dear God, how incredible is it that after you gave us the gift of life, you immediately gave us the gift of rest? Not because we needed it or because we earned it, but because you love us. Help us to recognize rest as a gift and receive it with joy. Amen.

    Dear God, it’s a privilege to love and serve other people, and when we do that, it’s a way of loving and serving you too. But sometimes, we’re out of time or out of energy, and what we really need is rest. Help us learn to listen to your voice and our bodies, so we can make wise choices. Amen.

    Dear God, we thank you for this brand new week. Some weeks, we feel rested and ready to go. Some weeks, feel normal. And some weeks, we feel like we need another weekend immediately. No matter how we feel now, give us what we need for today, and guide us into restful sleep this evening. Amen.
