What is it that makes a good story? Is it drama? Is it conflict? Is it character development? I would reckon it's all of these things, and more, but I think there's a different question that should be asked.
What is it that makes a story "stick around" in the back of our mind, and impact us in a positive way? I think personally, it's when there's a theme of growth weaved into a story. A story where at the end there's a chance to learn something, even if we don't realize it at first.
