The story of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-42 shows us not only that we need to be a good neighbor, but also that knowing the Scriptures is not enough for eternal life; we must know the Author. Jesus doesn’t just welcome one type of person; He is accessible to all.

The joy that is an offer from the Scriptures is a joy that is not affected by the circumstances of this world. The goods of this life can’t make that joy any sweater. The bad, painful, and scary of this life can’t take that joy away. Luke 10:17-24 shows where we can find the fullness of joy.

As Christians, we have been called to mission. When God sends us, He doesn’t send us unprepared. Luke 10:1-16 highlights several “Lessons for the Sent” that were true for the 72 that Jesus sent and are still true for us.

There is no earthy security in follow Christ. Four questions emerge out of Luke 9:51-62 that help us measure our commitment to Christ.

This message highlights three truths of why we can love Jesus from Luke 9:37-50. Jesus interrupts our lives, feelings, and preconceptions to invite, comfort, and call us to center our lives on Him, to trust, follow, obey, and to love Him.

Jesus reveals His glory to three of His disciples in Luke 9:28-36. What does this glimpse of glory mean for us? This passage describes four responses.

We have no authority to define Christ ourselves. Luke 9:18-27 tells us that we must deny ourselves for Christ’s sake. If we are ashamed of Him, then He will be ashamed of us. So stand firm on the truth of the Scripture.

Faithful gospel ministry is bringing hope to the hopeless. Luke 9:1-17 shows how we can rely on and trust in Jesus, and that we can turn to Him for the answer to every situation.
