    This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana discuss the 1986 martial arts drama The Karate Kid II. Who knew that the Karate Kid was a Roman Numeral deserving franchise? In this sequal to the 1984 franchise starter, Daniel-san and Mr Miyagi take their kicks on the road and travel across the Pacific to the island of Okinawa to set right wrongs that have festered for decades. You know what to except in these movies, but there is something fun about the foreign location that adds to this one and saves it from just being a cookie cutter sequel. And if you watched Cobra Kai (which you should do), this is important viewing since one of the characters introduced here is very important to that show. Enjoy the podcast!

Yeah, neither did we. This Tom Howell supposed comedy fails to bring the laughs and fails on many other levels as well. Darth Vader is there to provide the moral center (Darth Vader? The moral center??). Ron Reagan is there to embarrass this dad's presidency. Frank Drebin and Elaine Benes are absolutely wasted in their non-roles. Tommy Chong's daughter rounds out the cast. No one could be proud of being in this turd. Enjoy the podcast!

There is chest bursting and egg hatching and flame throwing. Some upstart takes Sir Ridley Scott's place in the director's chair. I wonder if he'll turn out to be any good in the future.
