We live in East Yorkshire, England. I’ve never written a book before – there was never anything that gripped me enough to make me embark on the massive amount of hard work that writing a book entails.

At school, I got a grade A in my English language ‘O’ level and a B in English Literature. By my very early sixties, I accepted that my life was pretty ordinary and simple, nothing Earth-shattering was ever going to happen to me…then Caroline’s parents died.
Joan died first, then a few years later, Roger.
