My Heart is Meek

A Psalm of Ascent

1 Yehovah, my heart is meek before you. I don't consider myself better than others. I'm content to not pursue matters that are over my head - such as your complex mysteries and wonders - that I'm not yet ready to understand. 2 I am humbled and quieted in your presence. Like a contented child who rests on its mother's lap, I'm your resting child and my soul is content in you. 3 O people of God, your time has come to quietly trust, waiting upon Yehovah now and forever.

5 I wait for Yehovah, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope. 6 My soul waits for Yehovah more than those who watch for the morning - Yes, more than those who watch for the morning. 7 O Israel, hope in Yehovah; For with Yehovah there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption. 8 And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

A Psalm of Ascent

1 Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Yehovah; 2 Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. 3 If You, Yehovah, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? 4 But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.

Daniel 9:18-19
oh my God, incline your ear to hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your Name, for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deed, but because of Your great mercies, 19 O Yehovah, hear! O Yehovah forgive! O Yehovah listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and your people are called by Your Name.

2 Chronicles 7:14-16
Then if my people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 15 My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place. 16 for I have chosen this temple and set it apart to be holy - a place where my name will be honored forever. I will always watch over it; for it is dear to my heart.

O my God, my soul is in despair within me; therefore I remember You from the land of the Jordan and the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar. 7 Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; all Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me. 8 Yehovah will command His lovingkindness in the daytime; and His song will be with me in the night, a prayer to the God of my life.

As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; when shall I come and appear before God? 3 My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?" 4 These things I remember and I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go along with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God, with the voice of joy and thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival. 5 Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence.

9 My lover is like a swift gazelle or a young stag. Look, there he is behind the wall, looking through the window, peering into the room.

10 My lover said to me, “Rise up, my darling! Come away with me, my fair one!

11 Look, the winter is past, and the rains are over and gone.

12 The flowers are springing up, the season of singing birds[fn] has come, and the cooing of turtledoves fills the air.

13 The fig trees are forming young fruit, and the fragrant grapevines are blossoming. Rise up, my darling! Come away with me, my fair one!”
