Directed by Richard Marquand
In this episode of the Middle Age Movie Reviews Podcast, Tim, Matt and Rick get together one more time to discuss the 1983 Sci-fi Classic that wrap up the best trilogy of all time Return of the Jedi.
Rick, gets a little messed up and tries yet again to force us to watch Spaceballs. However, the guys quickly quell that urge and get the train right on course for the Return of the Jedi.
Tim then gives us a wonderful Yoda-like personation for the synopsis, as we all know there are no Irish Stormtrooper for Matt to mimic. So Tim settles for a different short green dude.
Tim also waxes poetic on when he first saw this film in the theatre and how much fun he enjoyed this final installment of the Star Wars Trilogy.
The guys agree that while "Return of the Jedi" may have elements that cater to younger audiences, such as the Ewoks, it balances this with mature themes of redemption and sacrifice. Tim notes that the blend of kid-friendly content does not detract from the film's overall narrative strength.
