Welcome to episode 91, in which Ben and Claire are joined - in person for the first time since the podcast began - by special guest (and Claire's brother) Matt Turfrey!
He tells the story of a case which had police in the Brittany region of France perplexed. In 1989 a shocking murder in broad daylight eventually leads detectives to drifter Francis Heaulme.
The strange character seems to have a solid alibi but then he begins talking and the bits and pieces of information he gives start to add up to a horrendous career of crime.
To finish things off Ben has a sad story of mental illness that spirals out of control and results in a feline hostage situation, which culminates in police action that receives widespread condemnation...
