He starts by looking at a modern reworking of a Czech fairytale in Jan Švankmajer ‘Little Otík’ (also known in the West as ‘Greedy Guts’), and then pines for his own small village past when looking at Jiří Menzel’s ‘My Sweet Little Village’.
