After being sent home from Springfield Elementary, and being unable to be cheered up, she hears jazz music in the distance, and sneaks out to follow the sound. She learns how to express her sadness on the saxophone, and after some understanding from Marge, gains her happiness again. In the meantime, the first ever B-Plot, and a great one at that, unfolds, in which, Homer struggles to beat Bart in a boxing video game, but to no avail.
