Guest Bio: Dr Valerio Chiurchiù, PhD, is the Head of the Laboratory of Neuroinflammation and Resolution at the Institute of Translational Pharmacology (CNR) and the European Center for Brain Research at IRCCS Santa Lucia Foundation in Rome, Italy.

He is also an Adjunct Professor at Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma. With over 18 years of research experience,

Dr. Chiurchiù has pioneered work on the immunomodulatory functions of bioactive lipids, including endocannabinoids and Specialized Pro-Resolving Mediators (SPMs).

His research focuses on how SPMs (such as resolvins, lipoxins, and maresins) regulate innate and adaptive immunity in the brain, with particular emphasis on neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases.
