For this episode, Linda Sparks joins host Jacob Lavigne to talk about the life and career of Alonzo Wright, and how he came to be known as the King of Gatineau.
Alonzo Wright was the son of Tiberius Wright and the grand-son of Philemon Wright Sr (Episode 1). Alonzo Wright was one of the executor of Tiberius Wright's large estate and did not trust his uncle Ruggles Wright, who he ended up suing. From 1867 to 1891, he inherited land and became a well known Member of Parliament. Alonzo also loved to entertained in his large home called "Le Chateau." It was through regular banquets that he became largely regarded as the "King of Gatineau."
