There are some figures in the scriptures that are mentioned that we don't know a lot about. One of those figures is the prophet, Enoch. We know some things but historically not a ton. When Joseph Smith received the Book of Moses there was more light shed on this ancient prophet, and then with the discovery of some texts of the book as well as the Dead Sea Scrolls, we received a lot more. Now if I have to go wade through the Apocrypha to find information on Enoch thereis really only one guy to talk to, and that is Ken Peterson. Ken has been on the show quite a few times so we are all familiar with who he is. I mean he literally wrote the book Mormonism in the Apocrypha. This will be part one of a two part series. In this episode we first dive into the history of the threebooks of Enoch. We find out how they were discovered, who discovered them, tradition surrounding the books, then plunge head long into Enoch one and make it almost all the way through as we discover some fascinating doctrine thatseems to support Joseph Smith’s teachings in the Restoration as well as some things that seem to point to that Enoch saw our day.
