このコンテンツについて
Snake bites are one of the most common reasons for presentation at an emergency hospital, and also unfortunately at common cause of sudden death in small animals. With us starting to head into summer over here in Australia, snake bite season has already started. While there isn’t enough research in humans in regards to snake bites and how to best diagnose and treat them, the reality is even worse in animals. Today, we are looking at several recent papers, in particular Elapid Snake Envenomation in Dogs in New South Wales: a review, hoping to elucidate at least anecdotal evidence on what the best approach for diagnosing and treating snake bites might be.
