概要
What does it really mean to be a witch of your environment?
In this episode, Kanani Soleil sits down with author, farmer, and Southern Fried Witch host Seba O’Kiley for a deeply grounded conversation on land-based magic beyond the fantasy of the “witch in the woods.” Together, they unpack what it means to practice where you are, whether that’s an apartment, suburb, or sprawling acreage.
From researching the history beneath your feet to honoring land spirits, native ecosystems, and unseen ancestors, Seba shares powerful insights on becoming a “geographical witch” and building a reciprocal relationship with the land. The conversation dives into stewardship over ownership, ethical offerings, rewilding, and the magic of everyday spaces that many overlook.
This episode is a reminder that magic isn’t somewhere else waiting for you. It’s already here. You just have to learn how to listen.

BIO
Seba O’Kiley is a Southern folk witch, professor of literature, coven teacher, organic farmer, and host of the Southern Fried Witch podcast, where she shares reflections on the lived experience of a deeply rooted, land-based magical practice. Blending scholarship with hands-in-the-dirt wisdom, her work centers on ecology, ancestry, and forging meaningful relationships with the land.
She is the author of Farmcraft: An Ecology of Witchfolk, a forthcoming book that offers an honest and intimate exploration of her journey in cultivating a sacred covenant with the land and the spirits that inhabit it. Through her teaching, writing, and practice, Seba encourages witches to step into their role as stewards, not owners, and to find magic exactly where they stand.
