Amy and Jessica came into Summer House Season 10 from completely different angles: Amy as a completionist who has watched since season one, Jessica as someone who binged the entire series after the Wes and Amanda scandal broke before the season aired. Watching with full knowledge of how it ends turns every glance and sideways comment into evidence, and the evidence stacks up fast. The most plausible read on the timeline is that Amanda's interest in Wes goes back further than anyone admitted at the reunion, that she held the relationship just physical enough to keep him interested without crossing the line she swore she never crossed, and that the actual crack in her composure on that couch came when Wes confirmed he was still seeing someone else during the window between when their feelings started and when the official separation was announced. The Kyle and Amanda arc, viewed from the beginning with fresh eyes, is almost unbearable. She went into the marriage knowing exactly who Kyle was and wanting him to be different, which never works. What the later seasons show is not frustration but disdain, and the only moment she looked genuinely happy was telling him she was moving out. Sierra, meanwhile, sat two cushions away at the reunion while Amanda used "me" language about worrying over losing the friendship, with no apparent reckoning for what she had actually put Sierra through. The collateral damage extends to the show itself: Summer House finally had cast chemistry worth watching, and now it has done to itself what Vanderpump Rules did after Scandoval. On a lighter note, Carl's redemption arc is one of the better ones in Bravo history, and In the City is a Lindsay vehicle at its best. We also got into summer reading: Jessica is mid-way through Carly Fortune's "Our Perfect Storm," and Amy is reading "A Gentleman in Moscow" by Amor Towles, recommended by a 92-year-old friend she describes as a bonus dad. The best reason to read a book someone else loves is that you get to talk to them about it afterward.
