Your favorite Southwestern Quebec gardeners are BACK with a new episode and we are so thrilled to introduce our new guest to the pod: Caroline from the UK!
To kick things off, we start by giving our flowers to Hugo, who bravely stepped up to prune Justine's tomatoes to optimize airflow and sunlight. Thank you Hugo, my family is benefiting from the harvest of your hard work!
Caroline brings in an interesting perspective from the UK, discussing the cultural and agricultural differences between gardening in the UK and in Quebec. We have an interesting discussion of coal mining history in the UK and the now long term damage it's done to the soil in "the Black Country", but fear not, it's not all doom and gloom, we discuss the amazing gardens of the UK in all their aesthetic glory.
And of course, when it's three mama's on the pod, we gotta talk about our kids: we discuss involving children in the gardening and their little jobs, the parallels between raising children and growing plants and teaching them about the life cycle of food and plants.
Finishing it off, we have a discussion of food in Quebec with recommendations for Caroline to try while she is here, and of course, she returns the favor with recommendations for us to try next time we make a trip "across the pond" (spoiler: Yorkshire pudding sounds goooooooooooood).
