Your body is not subtle forever. Sometimes it whispers through curiosity, tension, or that weird tiredness you can’t “push through.” Sometimes it yells through burnout, shutdown, or the kind of restlessness that makes you question everything. I’m Grace, and I’m sharing the real-life ways my body has been trying to guide me for decades, even when my brain couldn’t name what was happening yet.
We start with why the nervous system is suddenly everywhere in wellness culture and why that conversation matters for trauma survivors. I tell stories from my life that make the point concrete: purity culture and unmet desire in marriage, a season of severe stress and hypervigilance where my body demanded rest, and the surprise joy of movement when I finally listened to the urge to dance. I also talk candidly about perimenopause and how hormone shifts can magnify pre-existing conditions like CPTSD, PMDD, and ADHD, making nervous system regulation feel like a daily survival skill.
Then we turn toward “more” as a sign of healing. Strength training and regular movement can support mood, anxiety, and bone health in midlife, and continued learning like studying a new language can build cognitive resilience as we age. I share why learning Italian lit up my brain, how I use body check-ins while dating to assess safety, and a simple prompt you can use this week: what is my body telling me right now?
If this resonates, subscribe on your favorite app, share the episode with a friend who needs a nudge toward self-trust, and leave a review so more midlife women can find us.
