Meet Captain Content & Kevin in the pit again this week for a hella good time! We’re getting our aggressions out by revisiting the starting point of it all for Kevin. The thrash, crossover, speed metal movement of the 80s spawned his love of all things rock n’ punk n’ metal. This time around the circle pit, we are focusing on Crossover Thrash. A sub-genre defined as short bursts of hardcore punk with metal guitar riffing. This was perfect skateboarding music, which intertwined with the Sk8 subculture in the 80s and 90s. Hope ya have a slammin’ good time with this one!
What is it that we do here at InObscuria? We exhume obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. In this episode we explore all things mosh-worthy! This is real metal, people. All hail the speed and delightful absurdity of Crossover Thrash! Our hope is that we turn you on to something new.
