We sit down with Middle School Pastor Erik Veker and Executive Pastor Matt Stowell to chat about Isaiah 55-56. In Isaiah 55–56, God invites the thirsty, the hungry, the broken, the outsider, and the one who feels unworthy to come and receive his grace freely. Yet our hearts are experts at finding reasons why the invitation couldn’t possibly include us: I don’t belong. I have nothing to offer. I’ve gone too far. God couldn’t really want me.
In this episode, we walk through Isaiah 55–56 and explore the heart objections we bring to God’s grace: and the surprising ways God responds to each one. His invitation isn’t based on what we can bring to the table, how good we’ve been, or whether we feel worthy. It’s based on who he is.
