このコンテンツについて
In this episode, I’m getting honest about what December really feels like for so many of us. Instead of the season of joy we are promised, it can feel more like a month-long marathon that no one asked to run. As a therapist and a mom, I know how heavy the invisible load can get this time of year. I am holding space for clients who are struggling while also trying to keep my own home afloat and create some version of holiday magic for my family.
I talk about how easy it is for the season to turn into performance instead of actual enjoyment. Holiday magic can start to feel like pressure and expectation and sometimes like one more thing on an already overflowing plate. If you feel stretched thin or exhausted by the constant stream of shoulds, you are not alone. We’ll discuss:
- The mental and emotional load moms carry that nobody sees
- How being a therapist adds another layer during an already heavy season
- Why holiday magic often feels like pressure instead of joy
- How I’m simplifying, opting out, and setting limits so I can actually enjoy the season
This episode is a reminder that you get to decide what your holidays look like and that it is more than okay to choose ease over expectations.
