Being hurt by people and organizations is nothing new. But the term "church hurt" has definately gained popularity in recent years. What is that all about and how should we respond, if we have been hurt by people in the church?
Listen in as we discuss the following questions.
1. Is "church hurt" a new thing that seems to have popped up or has it been around but has a new label?
2. How should can we respond to someone who says that they left their previous church because of “church hurt”?
3. Do we see any examples of people getting hurt by the church in Scripture?
4. Do you think that this is part of a bigger problem in society where people give up too quickly when things get difficult?
5. How should conflict be handled within the church?
6. Do you think that a lot of what is being blamed as church hurt is really something else? Is it an easy way out?
7. How much influence should preference have in our decision to stay or leave a church?
8. What would be an example of where the church was at fault and maybe used their authority in an inappropriate way? How should someone respond in a situation like this?
9. At what point should someone leave a church if they have been legitimately hurt or offended? What should they do before they walk away? Is there a right way and a wrong way to handle this?
10. How can someone overcome being hurt by the church?
