Engineering a Dream: My Journey from Corporate to Entrepreneurship with Palak Shah

  • サマリー

  • Design your lifestyle by owning your business

Transitioning from a corporate job to solo entrepreneurship can be a challenging experience, especially for women who have to balance their careers with motherhood. It can be difficult to let go of the stability and financial security that come with a corporate job, but the desire for a more flexible and fulfilling lifestyle can be a strong motivator. However, with clear goals, a supportive network, and a willingness to learn and adapt, women can successfully navigate the transition and build a successful business on their own terms.

In this episode, Palak Shah joins me. She is a former mechanical engineer, who traveled the world for 17 years training CEOs. Palak Shah discusses her decision to leave the corporate world after becoming a mother and her transition to starting her own real estate investment business. Since then, she has purchased, renovated, rented, and refinanced their way to an 8 figure rental portfolio in 5 years and retired from the corporate grind, all while watching their 2 kids grow. Palak strongly believes that profitable growth can be achieved, sustained, and even enhanced, by embracing diversity and by engaging with local communities.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Creating a business that works for your life, not the other way around
    • Women face challenges in corporate, especially when it comes to balancing family life and career
    • Approaching entrepreneurship with a project management mindset
    • Involving kids in your business can be a fun and educational experience
    • Finding support and understanding from fellow entrepreneurs
    • Put systems in place to balance family life and business
    • Involve kids in your business to make it a fun and educational experience
    • Being open and honest about financial successes and failures with other entrepreneurs.
