Today, let’s practice some useful Japanese expressions for talking about when you don’t feel well.
In this episode, you’ll practice phrases like:
Kaze o hikimashita. — I caught a cold.
Atama ga itai desu. — I have a headache.
Hanamizu ga demasu. — I have a runny nose.
Nodo ga itai desu. — I have a sore throat.
Netsu ga arimasu. — I have a fever.
Seki ga demasu. — I have a cough.
Onaka ga itai desu. — I have a stomachache.
Hakike ga arimasu. — I feel nauseous.
Hakimashita. — I vomited.
Round 1 is listen and repeat.
In Round 2, you’ll hear the English first and have a few seconds to say the Japanese expression yourself.
These are useful expressions to know for everyday conversation and especially when traveling in Japan.
Listen, repeat, and practice speaking Japanese out loud!
If you’d like to study Japanese with me in a private lesson, I also offer Japanese lessons on italki.
