Rachel L. Virk joins us in our recent Virtual U.S. Attorney Podcast episode. She has been practicing divorce law in Northern Virginia since 1989. Rachel is Certified as a Mediator by the Virginia Supreme Court and is a trained collaborative law practitioner.

She talks about the factors that can cause or increase conflict during the divorce process. In addition, how the situation can become even more complex when a couple has children, and they are involved in the process.

One of the most important suggestions is that during the process, the guiding principle should always be what is the right thing to do. An individual’s decision-making process must never include revenge or anger.

Rachel also highlights that conflict can surface a person’s true nature. It can have an extremely negative impact when children are a part of the process. There are chances that children can internalize that behavior.

There is an enormous amount of work required to properly prepare for the final custody hearing and the final divorce here in Northern Virginia. The paperwork is huge and tiring. From preliminary matters such as a motion to prohibit the dissipation of assets to a motion to prohibit relocating with the children restraining orders due to domestic violence, you will need the right assistance and knowledge to get what is in your best interest.

Listen now to learn more about this topic, including the information regarding the costs of litigation, a brief about the documents needed during divorce, and important considerations during the divorce process.
