概要
Get ready to be inspired as we unpack Sian Youngs’s incredible journey as a waste management trailblazer. As someone who has spent years in the Environmental Projects Department, Sian shares the empowering story of how she has combatted racial and gender bias in the workplace head-on.
In this episode, she shares pivotal moments, including the story of how her boss stepped in to ensure she earned her well-deserved respect. As one of the few Black women in her field, she was able to depend on an amazing mentor and her own determination to get the recognition she deserved. Surrounded by colleagues mainly of Indian or Caucasian descent, Sian stood out with unparalleled expertise and training. Despite being the most experienced, she often found herself unheard.
So what motivated her to keep going in such a hostile environment? Find out in this week’s episode of the Do Better Things Podcast.
