Terry Lawrence made a name in professional skateboarding back in the 1970's as a daring female athlete riding up the sides of empty swimming pools and half pipes. Fast forward a few decades and Terry's being inducted in the Skateboarding Hall of Fame. What changed from the 1970's to the 2020s? Terry transitioned to male and would be the first-ever trans inductee into the Hall of Fame.
As a first person to do something, Terry was granted a huge responsibility to tell his story, past and present. We worked together to do what we do: CONTROL THE NARRATIVE.
Listen in as Terry tells his story from teen years to now, what we need to know about trans athletes, how we can support the LGBTQI community and much more.
