This is one of the bigger concerts happening right next door to Redmond this week. If you want to go, check tickets before heading over because winery concerts can fill up fast.🍷 SAMĀ Cellars Wants to Teach You How to SipOkay, this one's for anybody who's ever taken a sip of wine and wondered what exactly they're supposed to be noticing. SAMĀ Cellars has a Taste & Talk event called “How to Sip,” built around making wine tasting a little less mysterious and a lot more approachable. It's the kind of thing where you can actually learn what you're tasting instead of just nodding when somebody says “notes of blackberry.” The event is listed through Experience Redmond. 🏃 Redmond Harvest Half Marathon Hits MarymoorThe Redmond Harvest Half Marathon takes over Marymoor Park on Labor Day, Monday, September 7 from 8:30 AM to noon. The 13.1-mile course starts at Marymoor, heads west out of the park, then runs north along the Sammamish River Trail before coming back. It's a fast, mostly flat course put on by Lake Sammamish Run Club and Seattle United Runners. Marymoor Park is at 6046 West Lake Sammamish Parkway NE. Running it? Great. Not running it? You can still go cheer people on.👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Redmond Youth Can Pitch Their Own Climate ProjectRedmond's Youth Climate Action Fund Fair is Wednesday, September 2 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village. This one's for young people interested in getting a microgrant to actually build a climate project, not just talk about one. Mayor Angela Birney, City staff, and subject-matter experts will be there to help brainstorm ideas and give feedback on applications. It's free, food and refreshments are provided, and you can drop in anytime. Head to Room 202 at 6505 176th Ave NE.🐾 Bark & Bourbon Is Basically Happy Hour for You and Your DogBark & Bourbon is back Sunday, September 6 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Northwest Spirits, 15029 Woodinville-Redmond Road NE. Bring the dog because they're handing out complimentary pup cups, treats, and doggie bandanas, plus they're running their “Goodest Doggo” contest. The dog with the most votes in their Instagram stories gets named Pup of the Month, with a prize for the winning pup and owner. Northwest Spirits also runs an all-day happy hour with Von's next door. Your dog may enjoy this outing more than you do.📚 What Happens When a Stranger Turns Out to Be Family?Brick & Mortar Books is hosting a Relative Strangers author event Tuesday, September 1 at 6:30 PM in Redmond Town Center. Local contributors Danna Schmidt and Kara Rubinstein Deyerin will be in conversation with author Sara Easterly about an anthology centered on people discovering biological relatives they never knew existed. We're talking adoption, DNA surprises, family secrets, identity, and what happens after one piece of information changes the story you thought you knew.
