THE OLYMPIC GAMES - A FUTURE OR NOT?

Every four years the Olympic Games, the ultimate world sporting event, comes around via the host nation and our global TV screens. The athletes of the world's nations come together to celebrate sport, international fraternity and goodwill. At least that's the ideal - for despite astonishing levels of sporting performance the Olympics are now somewhat tarnished with the controversy of performance-enhancing drugs, politics and astronomical costs. With the Commonwealth Games laced with similar woes and unable to find its next host, can we now ask if the Olympics might be facing the same fate? Is its used-by date fast approaching and are the games still valid? And what of the proposed Enhanced Games scheduled for 2025? In their own inimitable style, Keith and Lee discuss.

As an extra bonus the boys share the following link to the Aussie masters of sports podcasting - the one and only Roy Slaven and H. G. Nelson! Broadcasting from the Paris Olympiad titled, "People, Medals and Cheese." Well, what else would you expect from those two?

THREAT OF NUCLEAR WAR - REAL OR NOT?

True to their brief that no topic will be left untouched, in this episode Keith and Lee discuss the possible threat of nuclear war as the conflict in The Ukraine gradually escalates. The discussion was prompted by an interview George Galloway conducted with Scott Ritter. Scott is a former United States Marine Corps intelligence officer and former United Nations Special Commission weapons inspector with considerable international experience dealing with nuclear weapons. A man whose views on this matter, Keith believes can be taken seriously. Lee doesn't agree and as the sparks started to fly there was absolutely no need to get either of them started. Both were fired up. The interview well worth listening to can be viewed here:

US POLITICS (WELL, TRUMP - AGAIN!) AND THE BEST AND WORST DAY OF OUR LIVES.

In this episode, Keith and Lee set out to have a light-hearted discussion concerning the best and worst day of their lives but didn't get too far as the hot topic of the USA's political circus reared its bewildering head. Well, let's face it - with bombastic Trump and bumbling Biden, it's like a train wreck you can't take your eyes off. Not that Lee minded, he's obsessed with it all. Keith, as usual, had a bit to say, so he didn't really mind either. Although, sensible guy that he is, Keith did eventually steer the podcast back to the topic of the week. Which was the best and worst day of their lives. And once again, another fun and entertaining episode.

    P.S
Sensible Keith ? I think not

    FIRST LOVES AND BROKEN HEARTS

Very few of us don't have a first love that we can easily recall many years after the event. Whether puppy love or the real thing it remains an unforgettable memory. Some lucky couples go on to spend their lives together the whole way through. They grow into each other. Love does that to a person, it joins you deeply with your chosen other. Then of course, when that bond is broken for whatever reason, a profound sense of loss can be overwhelming. If it swamps you with sorrow your heart certainly can be broken. And that is a whole other experience. One that you may or may not get over. In this episode, Lee and Keith share their own experiences as much as their objective observations.

The Beatles and The Rolling Stones

Pop Music, or more correctly, popular music is just that - popular. It is the music for the masses. That doesn't mean it cannot be great music. Or even prevent some of its songs and performers earning the tag of being classics within its own genre. The Beatles, of course, will always be held in such high regard. Probably The Rolling Stones as well. Snoop Dog and Taylor Swift might not be included although their musical influence does reflect their time and era. Keith and Lee have fun on this episode.

    Technology blessing or curse

Technology today is all around us. Most likely more so than any other time in our history. Our new digital world is so deeply embedded into our everyday life there is barely an industry, a business, a sport or recreation that is untouched by it. Like most inventions that 'advance' our lives, modern technology is not without it's controversy. It's a big topic with much to discuss, yet Keith and Lee bravely take it on.
