Two children knock at the door. They say they need help. They ask to use the phone. But something about them feels wrong before you even see their eyes.
In this episode, we explore the unsettling phenomenon of Black Eyed Kids: strange children and teenagers with completely black eyes who appear at doors, in cars, in offices, in hotels, and on lonely roads, asking to be let inside.
We look at the famous Brian Bethel encounter, earlier and lesser-known stories, and accounts from the United States, Europe, and Northern Ireland. Along the way, we ask why these stories so often involve fear, thresholds, invitations, and rules that feel strangely familiar from older folklore.
Are they demons, aliens, fae, urban legend, or something else?
Whatever the answer is, the warning stays the same: don’t let them in.
