  • The Movie Theater Incident
    2023/02/01

When Dalai got almost a million views and thousands of comments on a Tik Tok video, she noticed two things.

    1. Very few people read captions.

    2. People were confusing fear based on past trauma with racism.

This episode is all about the importance of listening, not judging others based on your own trauma, or generational trauma, fear, racism and how one split decision can have a major impact!

Grab some popcorn.  You'll need it for this potentially controversial episode.

  • Is Dating Just a Distraction?
    2023/02/01

At this age, is dating just a distraction?  We, as usual, are not in total agreement on this topic and talk about why, and so much more in. this episode. What we do agree on is that when you. do choose to date as a single middle-aged woman it can be both exciting and challenging. It's a time to rediscover yourself and what you want in a relationship. Here are a few tips to help you navigate the dating world as a single middle aged woman:

    1. Be clear about your goals and what you're looking for in a partner.
    2. Take care of yourself, both physically and emotionally. This will increase your confidence!
    3. Try new things and expand your social circle. This can increase the chances of meeting someone who shares your interests.
    4. Be open to different types of relationships, including casual dating and long-term commitments.
    5. Be honest about your age and lifestyle. This is KEY!
    6. Remember, desperate isn't sexy and it leads to accepting crumbs!  (more on that in this episode)

The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy the process of getting to know new people.

    Good luck!

  • Is Tik Tok The New Crack?
    2022/12/27
We don't know who else can relate but breaking this post-pandemic social media addiction is no joke.   Have you. looked up and it's dark out and realized you've been in the rabbit hole of Instagram. for hours? Does bargaining with yourself sound like "just 30 more minutes" and I will quit watching reels and tik tok videos? We get it! So. how. do we all come out of the past 2.5 years able to walk away from the things that made us feel connected?  How do we begin to socialize and. shop and date again when so many of us are now addicted to social media?  How do we individually and collectively DETOX?  When Dalai was suddenly locked out of her Instagram, a friend of hers was convinced. she would completely freak out if it happened to her.  Dalai. was caught off guard by that and began to think about social media addiction and what people are doing now that the pandemic is over, people are getting back to work, traveling and even ordering less Doordash and InstaCart.    Our age group is in the middle between those who grew up with it and those who just had zero introduction to it until they were in their later years in life, if at all.  We are considering dating again, being on social less and less, trying to avoid the pressure of how many times to post a day, getting comments and likes.  It's a lot!  In this episode we talk about how it has impacted our lives, what we are doing now and finally getting back together for a margarita and some girl talk! Enjoy!
