The motive of the enemy is always to move believers away from the plan and purposes of God. Not only will Satan weaponize the words spoken over us by others, he will also attempt to use against us the words we say to ourselves. Regular fellowship with God and reliance on the unction of the Holy Spirit within us is key to discerning whose voice is speaking to us. Recognizing a counterfeit voice is much easier when we are familiar with the voice - and the Words - of our Heavenly Father.
