Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing. Today's devotional talks about centering ourselves in Jesus and to surround ourselves with positive influences. It talks about immersing ourselves in God's Word - so He can transform our minds with truth - the renewing of our minds. Lately the world is functioning on so many individual narratives and agendas that we have all strayed away from God's Word. Immersing ourselves in God's Word does not just mean attending church once a week, listening to a sermon, and then you are good for the rest of the week. Immersing ourselves in God's Word means coming to God for EVERYTHING in prayer, in worship, in reading His Word (or if you're like me, I enjoy listening to sermons like they are podcasts) - and actively doing the work God has called you to do. Your life should actively represent God - and His Word. It is being the Godly influence God wants you to be for Him. The way you live your live, the way in which you conduct yourself in your everyday life speaks volumes of the God you surrender to and trust. The noises, ideals, culture, and the way the world thinks we should be like today moves away from how God wants you to be. Do not let the world's noise drown out God's voice. Everyday God speaks to me, sometimes in a mighty way, but often times He gently shows me things, puts certain thoughts in my mind, reminds me of things, and open up opportunities for me -- and this is because I choose to stay in God's Word, remain prayerful for God to reveal to me His will for me. When you stay in God's Word, you begin to learn the things God wants for you. His desires become your desires. How can I receive God's Word or know His desire if I am not seeking His wisdom? This is my desire for you all: to not be conformed to the world's standards for you. You heart should long for what God knows is best for you. The God who formed you, knitted you, and weaved you while you were in your mother's womb, has a plan for you. So let God's voice be the influence in your life today.
