Defense attorney Bob Motta joins us to analyze the postponement of Sarah Grace Patrick's murder trial and what questions remain about the prosecution's evidence.

Sarah Grace Patrick's trial was scheduled to begin January 5th, 2026 in Carroll County, Georgia. She is charged as an adult with two counts of murder in the February 2025 shooting deaths of her mother Kristin Brock and stepfather James Brock. The couple was found shot in their bed. Their young daughter discovered the bodies. Sarah called 911.

The trial has been pushed to August 3rd, 2026 after prosecutors told Judge Dustin Hightower they would need time to review a defense neuropsychologist's report and potentially hire their own expert to prepare a rebuttal. The defense had been working with their forensic neuropsychologist since August 2025 and had a draft report ready.

Bob Motta breaks down what this delay signals from a legal perspective. Why would a prosecution claiming "mountains of evidence" need seven additional months? What does it mean that the defense's earlier continuance request was denied but the state's need for time was granted? How should we interpret the prosecution's immediate move to prepare a rebuttal to an expert report they haven't fully reviewed?

Motta also addresses the evidence that has — and hasn't — been made public. Sarah's grandfather Dennis Nolan has maintained there is no physical evidence tying her to the murders and no weapon has been produced. The prosecution has made claims about cameras being disabled, but those allegations remain unproven.
