  • Day of Simon | Creating the Hebrew Calendar Part 4
    2026/05/08

In this episode of the Creating the Hebrew Calendar series, we continue building the calendar by looking at the Day of Simon—a day established in remembrance of a victory led by our forefather Simon and kept with gladness, thanksgiving, and music.

We walk through key scriptures in 1 Maccabees to understand who Simon was, the spirit he carried, and why his leadership remains such a powerful encouragement for us today.

We then practice calendar creation together by using 1 Maccabees 13 to identify the exact timing of this observance—showing how to count from the second month and apply the same evening-to-evening principle we’ve been building throughout this series.

This episode is also a reminder that studying the lives of our forefathers can reignite our own zeal for The Most High, especially in seasons where our fire may feel dim or we need encouragement to keep pressing forward.

    Take a moment to reflect:

What gifts has The Most High given you that could encourage, strengthen, or inspire His people?

  • Feast of Unleavened Bread | Creating the Hebrew Calendar Part 3
    2026/04/30

In this episode of the Creating the Hebrew Calendar series, we continue building the calendar by focusing on the Feast of Unleavened Bread and what it means to keep it in alignment with the scriptures.

We walk through Leviticus 23 to understand how to count to the 15th day of the first month and why the day begins at evening according to Genesis, helping us identify the correct timing of the feast.

We then go into how to keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread according to the scriptures—covering the difference between no work and no servile work, preparing for a double Sabbath, cooking each day, and removing leaven from our dwellings.

This isn’t just about removing leaven physically, but about examining what needs to be removed spiritually as you continue healing, growing, and walking in obedience to The Most High.
