Friday brings the fun—and a country radio first. Jineane Ford checks in with a fresh round of nerd news before we roll into the main event: our Country Climb Star of the Week, Aaron Newsome, sent our way by Austin Burke and the Playlisted Podcast. The Pontiac, Illinois native shares his journey from choir kid to country storyteller and introduces us to his breakout single Dead Animal Bar—a song so rooted in a real place and real people that it literally helped him book the venue it’s named after.
