Startup Playbook | Day 17/100

Today's lesson explored one of the most misunderstood startup concepts:

Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

Many founders think MVP means building a poor-quality product.

It doesn't.

An MVP is simply the smallest product capable of validating your biggest assumption.

Its purpose isn't impressing investors.

Its purpose is learning.

Once validation exists, another concept becomes important:

Minimum Lovable Product (MLP).

Instead of asking:

"Does this product work?"

MLPs ask:

"Do people genuinely enjoy using it?"

Examples:

• Airbnb validated demand using a simple website.

• Slack focused on creating an enjoyable user experience.

My biggest takeaway:

A successful startup doesn't jump directly into perfection.

It moves through three stages.

Validate.

Improve.

Delight.

That's how products evolve from being useful to becoming unforgettable.
