Join me for an 8-week series on Psalm 119:33-40. Each week I will teach verse by verse and break down their meaning. Psalm 119 is the longest Psalm. It’s a hymn of praise and appreciation for God’s instruction. God not only gave His people land, but He gave them His blueprint, the Torah for living. Each section in Psalm 119 coincides with a Hebrew letter and highlights attributes of God’s instructions to His people.

All of Psalm 119 is an acrostic poem that moves through each letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Psalm 119:33-40 go with the Hebrew letter ה He and the number 5. Which also corresponds to this year of 2025 or the Hebrew year 5785.

Psalm 119:33 says, “Teach me, Lord the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end.” This verse is power packed full of much truth and insight, that we all need.

God has designed each of us to live joyful, victorious and successful lives. But as we look around at the world today, it seems very few people’s lives could be described this way. Even among people of faith, constant struggle and worry seem to be the norm. Why is this the case? What keeps us from experiencing the power and triumph that Jesus said and scriptures declare would mark His followers?

For the last 10+ years, at the beginning of the New Year, I have asked God to give me ONE Word, phrase, or thought to focus on and go deeper with Him during that season. I also ask Him to give me an anchor Scripture to mediate on and study more fully. This year He gave me the Word TRUST. He began by asking me, “Debbie, do you trust me?” I started to say, “Yes, I trust You, Lord.” But I knew the question meant, there was some area of my life where I needed to work on trusting Him more. He also gve me Jeremiah 17:7-8 as my anchor Scripture for this year.
