    2026/04/28

Two teenage girls set out for a simple day at the beach. It was summer. It was familiar. And nothing about that morning suggested it would end in mystery.

    2026/04/27

A 911 Call That Ended in Silence

ST. PAUL, Minn. — On a quiet Sunday morning, a 911 call shattered the calm of a residential neighborhood.

At 6:30 a.m. on April 25, 2010, Heidi Fergus told a dispatcher someone was trying to break into her home.

    She began giving her address.

Then a loud noise cut the call short.

Less than a minute later, her husband, Nicholas Fergus, called 911.

He said they had both been shot.

When first responders arrived, they found a tragic scene.

Nick Fergus was wounded in the leg.

Heidi Fergus had been shot in the back. She died at the scene.
