Guest Preacher: Rev. Bryant Phelps;
This powerful message confronts one of our deepest struggles: shame. Drawing from 2 Samuel 6:21-22, we encounter David dancing before the Lord with such abandon that he embarrasses his wife Michal, who believes he has acted undignified for a king. But David's response is revolutionary—he declares he will become even more undignified, even more shameless in his worship. This sermon challenges us to examine what we're ashamed of: the shame we bring on ourselves when we act out of character, and perhaps more significantly, the shame we feel when we fail to meet others' expectations. The central revelation is profound—we only bring shame upon ourselves when we try to be everything other than who God created us to be. When we're caught up in God's presence and secure in our personhood, we stop performing for others and start living authentically. This message invites us to release the burden of others' opinions and embrace the liberating truth that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, with nothing to be ashamed of.
