概要
On January 27th, 2026, Yoga Well's Executive Director Chase Bossart met with the Yoga Well community via Zoom to discuss IAYT's proposed 300-hour Foundations of Yoga Therapy certification track for licensed health care workers. Arguing against IAYT's plan, Chase proposed a series of principles for IAYT to use in future decision-making processes, including:
1. Holding the experiential aspect of Yoga to be equally important to Yoga's informational aspect, and structure requirements accordingly;
2. Honoring Yoga's original Indian anatomies & physiologies as legitimate medical systems separate and apart from the Allopathic models dominant in the West, and not relegating Yoga to be subsumed within those.
Since Viniyoga teachings, as passed down through Mr. Desikachar and T. Krishnamacharya, have so many healing principles important in the therapeutic application of yoga, we consider IAYT an important proponent of Yoga Therapy, and care deeply how they manage their role.
