As NCW Chairperson, she handled some of the most disturbing cases of violence against women in India — from dowry deaths to the Manipur ethnic violence — and led the WhatsApp helpline that rescued countless women during the COVID lockdown. Today, she is one of the few women in the Rajya Sabha willing to publicly admit that men are also breaking under invisible pressure.
