Classic Christmas
Part 3____________________________Pastor David King
(Philippians 4:4 NIV) Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
(Philippians 3:1) Further, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you.
Christmas can add a lot of pressure. _______ understands _____________.
(Matthew 26:36-39) 36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” 39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
Christmas can steal your peace. Christ bore a ____________________ for your _________.
(John 14: 27) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.
(Philippians 4:7) And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
- Stop asking ________.
(John 16:33) “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
(Philippians 1:12) Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel.
2. Start asking _________?
(Philippians 1:13-14) 13 As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. 14 And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.
(Romans 8:28) And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
3. ____________ on what really matters.
(1 Corinthians 13:13) And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
__________ for what you don’t ______________.
________ for an eternal __________.
________ is the greatest ________ of all.
