    The setting is Burma in 1962, according to Anegan when it opens. Murugappan, a Tamil laborer, rescues Samudra, the daughter of a wealthy Burmese general, at a local fair. She falls deeply in love with him but her father is adamant against it. However, the Burmese putsch takes place, and Murugappan attempts to smuggle Samudra into India. Mallika, the girl who was in love with the lad, betrays them. The individuals leap from the boat; nevertheless, Murugappan is shot at and Samudra decides to die together with him.

    The tale picks up immediately after the conclusion of the previous book, with Madhumitha, a game designer in Kiran’s successful firm (with the frightening name of Tentacles), undergoing regression therapy. The deceased girl’s room is decorated with a poster of Aung San Suu Kyi, Samudra’s classmate! According to Madhu, she has encountered people from her previous life and is certain that she will encounter Murugappan in this lifetime. She does, however, in the form of Ashwin, a systems engineer working in her own firm! She begins flirting with him and forms a soft spot for her while he isn’t ready to believe in past lives.

    Meanwhile, after an accident, Madhu retells a prequel to the Kaali and Kalyani tale set in Madras in 1987. Kaali is a tough guy who wins Kalyani’s heart with his purity and goodness, but she has no choice but to marry Ravikiran, a business magnate. The lovers, in their own crazy way, are happy with the results. They elope and flee to India, but they are deceived and murdered. And the murderer might be someone close to them in their present lives, primed to strike again!

  • Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022) – Movie Review

    After six seasons of television, a previous film, and a cultural shift that has prompted some of the show’s original viewers to regard the characters’ generational wealth with revulsion and glee, as though it were a wheel of rotten Stilton, “Downton Abbey: A New Era” asserts that change has struck at the Grantham family’s manor. The stately sequence that began in 1912 with the sinking of the Titanic is now entering its conclusion in the late 1920s. On the horizon, a rough sea of modernity is forming. To remain afloat, this pleasant sequel decides to ever so slightly democratize itself: The upstairs-downstairs distinction that has long separated estate owners from their stewards begins to leak.


    The most memorable part of Downton Abbey’s roof is the clock, which motivates Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) to rent the cash-strapped estate to a team shooting silent film producers of “kin-ema,” as Lady Mary’s father, Robert (Hugh Bonneville), calls it, mockingly mispronouncing the name of the art form. (The moviemaking plot point may have been inspired by real-life: The franchise’s filming location, Highclere Castle, which resembles a vampire bat’s underbite, opened its doors to the show after Geordie Herbert, the Eighth Earl of Carnarvon and Queen Elizabeth II’s godson, recognized that many of its rooms were decaying.)

    The director, Julian Fellowes, and the “Downton Abbey” creator who also wrote “A New Era,” go on to have their own actors compete for who can deliver the best meta-zingers about the profession. On seeing that her bloodline hasn’t earned its living, snooty Dowager Countess Maggie Smith spits, “I’d prefer to work at the mine.” The obvious reply is that because of her lineage, she has not worked a day in her life which would be an insult against Dame Tuppence Middleton and Allen Leech as devoted parents striving to keep their children from becoming unproductive rich people.

    The murder of a young boy by his mother serves as the catalyst for David Cronenberg’s new film, “Crimes of the Future,” which is set in an imagined future when humans are ruled by psychosurgery. The film’s location and action are as stylized and abstracted as those of ancient tragedy, and “Crimes of the Future” was filmed in Greece. The death, though, does not provide the drama with its tragic power; rather, it is used as a symbol or indicator of it—a minor narrative element with little emotional impact. “Crimes of the Future” is, in one sense, a conceptual film; it’s more about ideas than people or incidents, and less a drama about characters’ lives than an allegory for Cronenberg’s darkly diagnostic perspective on contemporary criminality, which society commits against itself.


    “Crimes of the Future” is a thinly developed dystopian fantasy with characters that are devoid of psychology and context, with no awareness of the social order around them or the history that brought them there; it just shows concepts without providing answers. In this context, it’s a typical “late film” in that it is the first feature Cronenberg has directed since 2014, and what he has to say here he puts on the line with few of the blandishments of popular films or the aesthetic attention of art-house ones. It’s more of a viewing experience than a viewing event. The concepts that Cronenberg explores are strong and affecting; his topic is the struggle to create art in an eroded cultural environment rife with consumerism. It’s the story of eight years of silence, an apocalyptic vision of the end of the road, and the death of everything he’d known.

    Remind us again, what is it that they say about women and discontent? “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned,” we all know. In the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ camp, for writer Aakash Kaushik and director Anees Bazmee, that adage becomes a reality. Yes, we all have our opinions and impressions regarding this sequel, but allow the newest version to speak for itself by separating yourself from memories of Akshay Kumar’s debut film.

    This tale begins with a photograph of a sand dune—a clue: Rajasthan—and goes all the way back to when Reet was a tiny girl holding on to her pyaari bhabi Anjulika.

    Cut to scene two, the wealthy family leaves their enormous mansion for one of their own has rolled over to the other, darker side of metaphysical existence: Manjulika, the wench. The Thakurs are happy with Manjulika’s imprisonment and abandonment of their old home. But how did Ruhan, a lovely little punk, wind up in this muddle? Reet enters the stage now; she is beautiful and innocent. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyya 2′ has nothing in common with its origins narrative, and it is this secret power that keeps it fascinating.

    “Benediction,” Terence Davies’ exquisitely beautiful depiction of Siegfried Sassoon, the English war poet and soldier, is a movie that blends acute sadness with exquisite pleasure. The pleasure and the sadness are inextricably linked, thus seeming appropriate, given how close aesthetic enjoyment and moral anguish were entwined in Sassoon’s own work. In furious, sorrowful, and, yes, frequently exciting terms, he exposed the horrors of World War I and condemned its architects and enthusiasts for their moral blindness. This biting denunciation appears at the conclusion of his poem “Suicide in the Trenches,” which was first published in 1918:

    Sassoon was a decorated veteran of the Western Front who became a conscientious objector before becoming an outspoken advocate for wounded soldiers. He knew what he was talking about, to say the least. “Benediction,” which sprinkles passages of his poetry over gloomy reels of old war footage, is not only a somber commemoration to the wounded and fallen, but also a kindhearted tribute to those survivors who lived with the trauma they had endured. No other filmmaker has his ability to evoke states of loneliness, and he depicts the terrible isolation experienced by those who had endured armed conflict’s terrors.

    But “Benediction,” which explores themes beyond the time period that inspired Sassoon’s own poetic imagination, is about more than just one type of solitude. Given the subject matter, it could scarcely be any different. The Israeli-born Sassoon has also discovered an ideal interpreter in the Scottish actor Jack Lowden, who played Tom Hardy’s younger brother in “Dunkirk” and “Fighting With My Family.” We come to understand not only Sassoon’s difficulties with his sexuality, his art and his fate, but also the unpredictable development of those struggles over time as Lowden conveys them in a thoughtfully sensitive, quietly compelling, and finally anguished manner. “Benediction” drifts between past and future, history and memory, capturing the strange, personal alchemy by which opposing bits of self-identity combine to form a soul.

    Lifetime’s Buried in Barstow starts on a rather grim note. We get to see Angie Harmon leave the scene of the murder and through her voice-over, it is revealed that this opening sequence takes us back 20 years ago when she was just beginning life again after trying hard not to think about what happened at all these past few decades – but then “your old impatience” catches up with Hazel King as well!

    The camera zooms out as we’re brought back to the present, where Hazel runs a diner with her daughter Joy (Lauren Richards) who seems more interested in branching out and moving in with her boyfriend Travis. However, their worries come true when he returns one day after bruises have appeared on his body from what looks like an argument between them.

    Hazel is the most infuriating woman on earth. She always seems to find her way out of any scrape, no matter how deep it gets! When she catches up with Travis and finds him bleeding at an unmarked grave site-well…you can guess what happens next: They end up fighting for their lives while being watched by several people who might know more than they let on (and there are plenty). The single mother also happens to be understanding enough that even though he may have done some shady things in his past; as long we’re working together now – all’s well!).

    Interceptor movie review: The new Netflix movie, which is neither cheap, cheesy, or has a strong central performance by Elsa Pataky, is a thinly-veiled propaganda piece that no amount of star cameos can rescue.

    In the film Top Gun: Maverick, Tom Cruise’s brave pilot makes a brilliant tactical maneuver by destroying the opponent’s airbase before launching an attack on their soil. By the time the enemy realized what was happening, it was already crippled. Interceptor, which is released on Netflix today, has a similar setup but peaks in its first few seconds when it displays this fascinating concept in text on screen.

    The film informs us in the first minutes of America having two secret bases designed specifically to intercept and destroy Russian warheads. A Russian nuclear missile would take 24 minutes to reach the United States, and the US would have only 12 minutes to detect and shoot it down, according on the movie. The movie starts out with one of those bases being taken over by Russian terrorists, and our hero, JJ, is heading to the second. She doesn’t yet realize it, but the next base will be seized by renegade personnel as well, and she’ll be the final person standing between them and command center. Talk about a difficult first day at work.

  • Samrat Prithviraj (2022) – Movie Review - Cinemahdv2.net

    Samrat Prithviraj is a historical drama film based on the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, one of the most famous and fearless rulers of ancient India. The film chronicles his journey from being a young prince to becoming one of the most powerful kings in Indian history. Samrat Prithviraj also stars Sonakshi Sinha as Samrat’s love interest, Sanyogita. The film is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and is set to release in 2022.

    The great life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan required a screenplay that celebrated his journey, pride, and valor, but the filmmaker decided on a subtle approach with just a few heroics added to Akshay Kumar’s brave king of India. Instead of introducing the audience to the characters, the film swiftly moves from one sequence to another in the first half without focusing much on drama or build-up. The story starts well with a fight between Samrat Prithviraj and a lion in the opening minutes, but it then dips again before picking back up during the interval point. The war sequence, too, lacks the buildup we’ve seen in previous period films.

    The handsome king who galloped away with his lady in shining armour is said to be Prithviraj Chauhan, the early 12th-century ruler of Ajmer. Rajkumari Sanyogita, a beautiful princess, was kidnapped by Prithviraj Chauhan, the early 12th-century ruler of Ajmer. The details of this love story are recorded in Chand Bardai’s ‘Prithivaj Raso,’ which is claimed to be Prithviraj’s court poet. Not only was the lovely princess saved from her father’s rage; Jaichand, a traitor to the Mughals, was allowed to live till his deathbed.
