This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format.
Psalms 136:1-26
- A call to give thanks to the Lord for His steadfast love that endures forever, recalling creation, the Exodus, and God’s provision.
- The psalm repeatedly affirms that God’s love endures forever through every act of deliverance and care for His people.
Psalms 134:1-3
- A short call for the servants of the Lord who stand by night in the house of the Lord to bless Him.
- The Lord, the maker of heaven and earth, is asked to bless His people from Zion.
Psalms 146:1 - 150:6
- Praise is given to the Lord who helps the oppressed, sets prisoners free, and reigns forever; trust is placed in God rather than princes.
- The final psalms summon everything that has breath to praise the Lord with music, dancing, and all creation joining in joyful worship.
1 Corinthians 3:1-23
- Paul addresses the Corinthians as infants in Christ still marked by jealousy and division over leaders, reminding them that only God gives the growth.
- Believers are God’s temple; no one should boast in human leaders, for all things belong to them in Christ.
